Enhanced on the lid with 'glacé' guilloché work, adorned with a blank rectangular cartouche at its center and applied insects (often in amber, mother-of-pearl, colored enamels, etc.) in Shibayama style, referencing a Japanese decorative technique developed during the Edo period (1603-1868) and named after Shibayama Senzo, an artist renowned for popularizing this method.
