Pyrogène Vesta Case Rectangular in shape, crafted in brass. Enhanced with an "antique" guilloché pattern and adorned on the front of the lid with a hand-painted enamel work in Belle Époque style, depicting an erotic scene featuring a painter taking hold of his nude female model, inscribed "Une pose difficile" (A Difficult Pose); and on the reverse of the lid, a second work depicting the painter at his easel and his nude model lying on her back on the floor, legs spread in the air against the easel, inscribed "Très bien…." (Very Good…). Rocaille-style cartouche ornament on the reverse of the case. Spring-loaded lid with zero-tension and undulated border. Flat frontal striker. Maker: Unidentified, France.
