Sovereign Case In pistol gun metal with oval form. Decorated on the front with applied insects, including one gilded (often in amber, mother-of-pearl, colored enamels, etc.) in Shibayama style, referring to a Japanese decorative technique developed during the Edo period (1603-1868) and named after Shibayama Senzo, an artist renowned for popularizing this method.
